So, we took Malachi for his circumcision today - a task which had us both on edge. I fully expected him to berate our conscience with unstoppable screams of anguished betrayal and heart rending reproach. Accordingly, we both decided watching the circumcision was the last thing in the whole wide world we wanted to do. Ever.
So, we just waited and listened to him cry from several doors down. But then, when he came back all was forgiven. They said babies forget. I didn't realize they forget immediately. Quite a relief, although the healing still has to take place before he's totally past the experience (8-13 days).
What a relief it's all over now.
