I think I have stumbled onto a solution that will work. The $200 price difference between the xoom wifi and the xoom 3G seems unwarranted to me. They are, after all, identical in every other respect. Since my phone has wifi for $20/month to the tune of 2GB I think I can service a Xoom's data needs in that fashion. Yes, it precludes using things like netflix, hulu, or playon on the tablet when outside of wifi range. But I think I could very successfully wipe my tears with the wad of money I save.
